Located just 30 km from Dalaman airport, Dalyan was once a small fishing village and is now famous for its ancient rock tombs, turtles and mud baths. Its unspoiled natural beauty and places of historical interest attract many tourists year after year.

The discovery of the endangered Loggerhead Turtles and other the wildlife, led to a campaign to designate the area for conservation and now the whole Dalyan Delta is environmentally protected. Dividing the delta is the famous Iztuzu sandbar (Turtle beach), with over three miles white sand and warm shallow sea. This beautiful beach is enjoyed by tourists and locals alike.

The Dalyan channel is a small network of lakes and waterways, which lead from the Mediterranean Sea to Kocegiz Lake via the town of Dalyan. You can explore the natural beauty of the Delta on one of the small boats to be found moored near Dalyan town centre.

The town of Dalyan has retained its small fishing village charm. There are restaurants, shops and bars which although tailored toward tourism are not over commercialized. Sitting in the riverside restaurants watching the local boats go by is popular past time with both locals and tourists alike.
